We did it!
Our farm just crossed a major milestone! We now offer our products via extended courier delivery through Uber Eats and UPS Roadie, PLUS 1-day regional shipping, AND 2-3 day national shipping! This was a goal we set out to reach when we first started the farm. We really decided to push hard for it in April after a wake-up call.
In April, I got pink eye for 2 weeks. Never had it before in my life. All of a sudden, I couldnāt see to drive and I couldnāt make deliveries until my husband got home after working extra hours of required overtime at work. Not fun, and not fair to him.
So I set out to really push to get this integrated into the website, plus I over-hauled the website and optimized it for SEO. I also priced out boxes, insulators, and ice packs. Lastly, I put a cute little launch video together, and pulled the trigger last week. Hereās the details on our updated delivery prices and methods.
Outsourcing this means no more $10 delivery (which honestly speaking, barely covered fuel, and certainly not my time). Itās now roughly $1 per mile (and not something we have much power to negotiate on.) Free delivery is able to be unlocked after minimum shipping order thresholds are met for each zone (15 miles, 30 miles, 45 miles). Anything over 15-30 miles and you might as well choose 1-day shipping for lower prices so long as you donāt want eggs. (No shipping of eggs or glass jars, sorry).
I know this wonāt bode too well with some of our customers, but itās growing pains we have to go through as a small farm business with limited time on our hands. To try and sweeten the deal for our locals, you can always select āon the farm pickupā at check out and enjoy a 15% off of delivery prices discount. The same can be applied to farmers market pick up. (Hit us up for a farm tour sometime⦠farm tours will always be free for customers!)
To be fully transparent on pricing, the prices you see on the website are linked to your delivery zip code. You will see higher prices depending upon where you are (nation-wide shipping is highest at 31% above local pick up). This is the delivery price now fitted into the pricing across all items. This price also includes the insulated packaging and ice packs (which are fully recyclable), but the pricing for small fryās like our farm⦠is atrocious. Until we can buy packaging in bulk, this is where we will have to be for now.
But at this moment, this is something to celebrate! It means our products have been loved enough that weāve out-grown the first stage of our business plan!
Box and Bundles!
To celebrate the launch of our nation-wide shipping, weāve put together some bundled items at discounts with more to come! First up is our Ancestral Blend Ground Beef (with organ meat)! Weāve discounted these from 15-25% off individual packages depending upon the box size you choose: small (5 lbs.), medium (10 lbs.), or large (15 lbs.)! This puppy is prime cooking for carnivores, nose-to-tail eaters, and health-seekers alike! (Not to mention, Memorial Day is right around the corner! Upgrade that burger cookout!) More bundled items will be added in the following days such as backyard BBQ bundles, soup kit bundles, and more!
